Rick moved to Nashville in 1995 as a singer/songwriter, but soon found
he was great at helping other people record their songs.
He opened his first Music Row studio, “Big Red Studios” on 16th avenue in 1997, at a time when recording in Nashville was non-stop; it was before everyone had their own home studios, and writers came from all over the world to record and pitch their songs.

Originally a rock / funk guitar player in the Hendrix vein, he learned bass, drums, keyboards, engineering, mixing, vocal production and song arrangement (Nashville Number system). The work he did at Big Red was featured in ”Making Money With Your Studio” by Tom Volinchak.
He has also had Music Row partnerships with Garrett Parris (Magic Mustang Music) and Rich Herring (Little River Band).

Though Rick’s main forte was the ‘one man band’ (at a time when
you actually had to be able to play everything), he has also worked
on countless recordings with some of the top players in Nashville,
as an engineer, a producer, and as a player himself.

Rick Is still available for recording; he owns a studio near Nashville
and is available for solo gigs (covers or original) and touring.
He can also be found Sunday mornings playing drums or leading
worship at Elder’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Smyrna, TN
